Physics At HRI

The physics group at Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI) conducts research in four main areas: Astrophysics, Condensed matter physics, High energy phenomenology and High energy theory. It also runs a graduate programme which admits students with bachelors as well as masters degree.

Research

The physics group has members working in black hole astrophysics, field theories in curved spacetimes, large scale structures, correlated electron systems, mesoscopic systems, physics beyond standard model, quantum chromodynamics and string theory. Read more about research in physics at HRI.

Graduate studies in Physics

The group conducts a graduate programme in physics, leading to the M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees, in collaboration with the University of Allahabad and with the Indira Gandhi National Open University. Read more about graduate studies in physics at HRI.

Current activities in physics

Apart from the graduate programme, HRI also hosts several schools and workshops in physics. All four groups have regular seminars in which topics of current interests are discussed. Read more about current activities in physics at HRI.
